Heli Skiing

Get away to CMH Purcell - and 495,000 skiable acres! Cross Country Skiing

The scenic Dawn Mountain Nordic Centre offers 33k of world-class cross-country skiing track set for both classic and skate skiing, groomed with snowmobiles and a two Bombardier Snow Cats. This cross-country skiing mecca welcomes all skiers at our day-use chalet to help you get oriented, pay your trail fee, sign in, and pick up your trail map. Choose your own adventure from the gentle beginner loops that include flats and some rolling hills to the more stamina-testing outer loops with challenging uphills and exciting downhills. All ski trails come with extraordinary mountain wilderness vistas, so bring your camera!

The tube zone!

Daycare

Play, Laugh, and Explore – Kicking Horse Kids Club for your little ones!

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort offers daycare services to children from 18 months to 5 years of age. Our team supports and encourages positive relationships between children, families and staff. Children are introduced to a wide range of activities and opportunities that support their emotional, social, creative, cognitive and physical growth. Our certified team provides children with a safe, nurturing, fun environment for them to learn and grow as individuals.

Avalanche Safety Course

Avalanche safety training.

Our Avalanche Skills Training (AST) 1 course, delivered by the Mountain Safety team at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, is an excellent resource for those interested in winter backcountry recreation who haven’t been formally trained about avalanche hazards.

The AST course focuses on avalanche hazard recognition and avoidance to help participants with their own decision making in the field. It is also a prerequisite for the CAA level 1 course.

This 2 day course covers avalanche terrain recognition and avoidance, companion rescue, and how to use the Avaluator, a decision support tool. All courses are taught by professional members of the Canadian Avalanche Association and have a maximum instructor to student ratio of 1:8.
